He may be busy with physical therapy in a Chicago-area veterans' hospital, but Army Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Blaxton is still officially the manager of Valvoline Oil Change on N. Wisner Street in Jackson.
He said last week he'll be back to work as soon as possible.
Until then, family, friends and co-workers are on a steadily rotating guest list for Blaxton's room at Hines VA Hospital in Maywood, Ill., where the father of four is undergoing rehab after a roadside bomb severely injured his spinal cord Oct. 24, 2007, days before the scheduled end of his second tour of duty in Iraq. Blaxton is a reservist with the 303rd Military Police Co. based in Jackson.
